Meet your host, Emily Race.

Emily Race-Newmark (she/her) is “curious explorer of worlds inside and out”.

Her desire to ask bigger questions of herself and the world around her has led her to stray further away from the status quo and to create a life of her own imagination.

With a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, Emily initially began a career in advertising where she worked for some of the biggest brands in the world. While she was surrounded by brilliant creative minds, massive budgets and opportunities for global impact, she couldn’t help but feel like the soul was missing in all of it. Taking a leap and listening to her own heart, she left a high salaried career and decided to wait tables instead, freeing up time and headspace to get clear on what truly mattered to her.

Shortly thereafter, she pursued certifications in yoga and coaching, which led her right back to the world of advertising, but this time in support for the talent within the agencies. She coached leaders at all levels, created and facilitated workshops around the globe, and later co-founded a consulting company that specialized in holding space for challenging conversations around identity in the workplace — all while traveling the country in a converted van with her now husband.

Recently, Emily has been diving deeper into her own creative expression, through writing, playing piano, and creating the Founding Mothers podcast, which meets a deep-seated need to paint a picture of “what could be possible” in a world that often feels like it is falling apart. With each death is an opportunity for rebirth, which Emily has also been navigating personally as she begins a new chapter in her life as a mother, bearing witness and caring for her favorite creation to date: her daughter.

She hopes this podcast brings inspiration and action to listeners’ lives as we each search for ways of living that are in alignment with who we truly are, and what is needed for this time on our planet.
